Terrific Tenby... |
What a wonderful place is Tenby
You don't have to go out of the country to have a wonderful travel experience
Tenby in Welsh is Dinbych-y-Pysgod, meaning little town of the fishes)
I didn't visit Tenby for many years after I lived in South Wales because my now wife had been taken there during almost every school holiday for 10 years or more and felt she had seen too much of it, but now we both love it as it should be loved
We tend to visit in the edges of the main tourist season as, to be honest, it can be a little busy. However on wonderful sunny days in April like the ones you see in this selection of pictures taken across a number of visits you can see how nice it really can be
One of the reasons that we find ourselves going back and back is the wonderful Geology of Pembrokeshire which fascinates and is just stunning to look at. For more of that see the Geology section in the Gallery where the Old Red Sandstone coastline is presented
Notable places in Tenby which are shown in the pictures are the 2 lifeboat stations, the harbour with the delightful backdrop of pastel painted buildings, and the Castle headland with the statue of Queen Victoria's beloved Albert
In the mean time I hope you like these pictures
The pictures in this section are taken with my E-510 and E-30 Olympus e-Series cameras with a selection of their excellent Zuiko lenses.
